This is an intense twenty-four hour course designed to meet the intent of 29 CFR 1910.120 (OSHA) Incident Command System (ICS).
The course consist's of classroom participation and hands-on exercise under the direction of expert instructors. Students will act as Incident Commander, Safety Officer, Entry Team Members, Backup for entry team and Decon Personnel.
This workshop will developed leadership so the will be able to function in the leadership role to perform the procedures required to confine, contain or control a hazardous materials problem within the capability of the resources and personal protective equipment available.
The student will be taught to perform hazard and risk assessment techniques necessary to mitigate a hazardous materials incident.
Implementation of decontamination procedures will be a skill that the student should understand and carry out with a high degree of competence.
After attending the course, a student should be able to implement a safety plan and have a higher degree of knowledge concerning basic chemical, biological, and technical terminology and behavior.
The program meets all of 29 CFR 1910.120 (OSHA) and NFPA 472 requirements for Incident Command Program.
The course provide the most thorough hands-on training available through the use of field evolutions of realistic events.
